Google Business Profile Integration

Learn how to connect VelvetReply with your Google Business Profile to automatically manage customer reviews and boost your online reputation.

Overview

Our Google Business Profile integration allows you to:

  • Automatically receive new review notifications
  • Generate AI-powered responses in your brand voice
  • Maintain consistent communication across all reviews
  • Track review performance and response metrics

Prerequisites

Before setting up the integration:

  • Ensure you have admin access to your Google Business Profile
  • Have your Google account credentials ready
  • Make sure your business profile is verified

Setup Process

Step 1: Authorize VelvetReply

  • In your VelvetReply dashboard, navigate to "Integrations"
  • Click "Connect Google Business Profile"
  • You'll be redirected to Google's OAuth consent screen
  • Sign in with your Google account
  • Grant VelvetReply the necessary permissions:
- Read business profile information - Read and respond to reviews - Manage business profile

Step 2: Select Business Locations

  • Choose which business locations to connect
  • You can connect multiple locations if you have a chain
  • Set individual settings for each location if needed

Step 3: Configure Settings

  • Review Notifications: Choose when to receive alerts
  • Auto-Response: Enable/disable automatic responses
  • Response Templates: Select default templates for each location
  • Approval Workflow: Set up review process for responses

Permissions Explained

VelvetReply requests the following permissions:

  • Read Business Profile: Access to your business information
  • Read Reviews: View customer reviews and ratings
  • Respond to Reviews: Post responses on your behalf
  • Profile Management: Update business hours, contact info, etc.

Security & Privacy

  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • We never store your Google account password
  • Access can be revoked at any time
  • We only access data necessary for the service

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

"Permission Denied" Error

  • Ensure you're using an admin account
  • Check that your business profile is verified
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Reviews Not Syncing

  • Verify the integration is active
  • Check notification settings
  • Refresh the connection if needed

Response Not Posting

  • Confirm you have permission to respond
  • Check if the review is still active
  • Verify your response meets Google's guidelines
